WhatsApp for iOS Users Can Now Send Uncompressed Media
In its most recent iOS version, WhatsApp has included the ability to transfer picture and video files in their original, unmodified states.
With the help of this functionality, users may now share media files without having the app conduct further data-saving compression. This is separate from the HD quality option introduced earlier this year and maintains more of the original quality by just slightly compressing files.
Users must select the Documents option to share photographs and videos in their original quality. After doing so, they will be given the choice to send files together with photos or videos. They will then receive the chosen picture or video file in its original, high-quality state. The maximum size of files that WhatsApp may deliver in an uncompressed format is 2GB.
After some time in testing, this functionality was eventually made available to all users this past week. Other services like Telegram haven't offered this feature in a long time. Android users may still receive these files, but sadly, WhatsApp is now delivering this capability to iOS. There is no news on when it will be available for Android.
