WhatsApp Could Extended Video Length for Status Updates

whatsapp status limit increase

WhatsApp has recently unveiled a slew of updates within the past few weeks for those enlisted in its beta program. Among these updates, while some primarily focus on bug fixes, others introduce fresh features for users to test and provide feedback on.

In the latest beta version, 2.24.7.6, WhatsApp developers have extended the duration of videos that users can incorporate into their status updates. Previously capped at 30 seconds, users can now share videos up to 1 minute long in their status updates, as reported by WABetaInfo.

This new feature, currently accessible to select WhatsApp beta testers on Android, marks a notable enhancement in status update capabilities.

Although this extension may not be deemed a fundamental WhatsApp feature, it underscores the developers' responsiveness to user feedback and their efforts to accommodate sensible requests.

As with all beta features, the transition of this update to the stable version of WhatsApp remains uncertain. However, given its seemingly straightforward implementation, it's plausible that all Android users on WhatsApp will eventually gain the ability to share longer videos via status updates.
