The Xiaomi Poco F6 and the Oneplus 12R are both flagship killer phones released in 2024. They bring serious guns to the arena with the latest components, decent price tags, and some of the best chipsets in the market as of 2024.
Smartphones are expensive. Flagship smartphones are even more expensive and their costs are usually very prohibitive, especially to those looking for quality on a budget. This is why flagship killers exist. So let's put two current Flagship killers, the Poco F6 vs OnePlus 12R against each other to see which one's better.
A flagship killer phone is a Midrange phone that offers something close to what Flagship phones are capable of. These two phones on here can certainly do that.
Just to give you an idea of what I'm talking about…
The Xiaomi Poco F6 has a 5000mAh battery capacity, weighs 179g, a Flow AMOLED display, a 120Hz refresh rate, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 (4nm) processor, Glass front, Plastic frame and Plastic back build materials, Corning Gorilla Glass Victus protection, and an IP rating of 68, making it dust and water-resistant. Serious power, no joke.
While the Oneplus 12R comes with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 (4nm) processor, AMOLED display, weighs 207g, 5500mAh battery capacity, 120Hz display and refresh rate, an IP rating of 64, making it dust and water-resistant, Glass front, Aluminium frame, and a Glass back.

Build, Body, Design
BBD is a segment that encompasses every physical feature of a phone, with that being said…
The Xiaomi Poco F6 is built using a Glass front, Plastic back, and Plastic frame as materials, nothing crazy, but these are not just any materials, they are premium materials that gives the phone an excellent look and feel, due to the materials used, the F6 has a premium in-hand feel and is lighter. It has a Corning Gorilla Glass Victus as protection, weighs 179g, has a dimension of 160.5×74.5×8mm and Dual SIMs (Nano-SIM, Dual stand-by), it also has an IP64 rating: dust and water-resistant and a 5000mAh battery capacity.
The Oneplus on the other hand, is made using a Glass front, Aluminium frame, and Glass back, which already makes it high-end, it weighs 207g, has a dimension of 163.7×75.3×88mm, Dual SIM (Nano-SIM, stand-by), a Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2 protection, an IP64 rating and a 5500mAh battery capacity.
Winner: Oneplus 12R
Colours
Both smartphones come in a variety of colours which just adds to the appeal of owning one of them. Xiaomi Poco F6 comes in Black, Green and Titanium, while the Oneplus12R comes in Iron Gray, Cool Blue and Electric Violet.
I personally prefer the Cool Blue, and for that reason…
Winner: Oneplus 12R
Chipset/ Performance
Performance is arguably one of the most important aspects of owning a phone, especially a flagship phone, how well a smartphone performs under intense use, makes or breaks it.
The Xiaomi Poco F6 has a Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 (4nm) chipset, runs on the operating system (OS) Android 14 and HyperOS, has an Adreno 735 GPU, and a CPU architecture of (1×3.0GHz Cortex-X4 & 4×2.8GHz Cortex-A70 & 3×2.0GHz Cortex-A520).
The Poco F6 features Liquid Cool technology 4.0 with an Ice Loop system. The advanced cooling solution efficiently dissipates heat during extended usage, ensuring an optimized performance.
On the other hand, Oneplus 12R comes with a Qualcomm Snapdragon SM8550 8 Gen 2 (4nm) processor, CPU architecture (1×3.2GHz Cortex-X3 & 2×2.8GHz Cortex-A715 & 2×2.8GHz Cortex-A710 & 3×2.0GHz Cortex-A510 and GPU Adreno 740).
Both processors are flagship grade chipsets in their own right, with very high levels of performance. But which one comes out on top?
Surprisingly, it is the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 outperforms the Snapdragon 8S Gen 3 in both single-core and multi-core tests, but they both perform similarly in gaming and battery life situations, however, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 slightly edges out the 8S Gen 3 in GPU frequency.
Winner: One Plus 12R
Display
Xiaomi Poco F6 has one of the best displays in the market. It has a Flow AMOLED display which allows you to enjoy different colour ranges while watching movies or playing games. The dark pixels really get dark in low-light areas and with a 2400nit peak brightness, you can easily see the 6.67 screen AMOLED display in the sun. It has a resolution of 1220×2712p, a 120Hz refresh rate, 68B colours, HDR10+, and Dolby vision for an absolute experience when watching movies and clear audio.
The Oneplus 12R also displays an amazing display (pun intended) to boot, It has a LTPO4 AMOLED display, 120Hz refresh rate, a 6.78-inch screen size, 1264×2780p resolution, 1B colours, HDR10+, Dolby Vision, and an insane 4500nit peak brightness.
The Xiaomi Poco F6 has a wider array of colours than the Oneplus 12R, but the Oneplus 12R has a higher peak brightness. Honestly, The difference is not that wide to the point where it's instantly noticeable.
