X Debuts Long-Form 'Articles' for Premium+ Subscribers

In a recent update, X (formerly Twitter) has expanded its platform capabilities, now allowing users to create long-form content called "Articles." Despite potential concerns regarding content takedowns or platform alterations, this new feature provides an avenue for users seeking to delve into lengthier discussions or storytelling.

However, access to this feature comes with a price tag. Users must either subscribe to X's Premium+ service, which costs $16 per month or $168 annually or be affiliated with a Verified Organization.

For those with access, the process of composing Articles is straightforward. By selecting the "Article" option in the sidebar, users can utilize various formatting tools such as bold, italic, and strikethrough text, as well as incorporate bullet points, numbered lists, images, and videos to enrich their content.

Once published, Articles will be housed in a dedicated tab on the user's profile and seamlessly integrated into followers' timelines alongside regular X posts. To ensure visibility, Articles are distinguishable by a unique icon and layout, emphasizing the platform's commitment to showcasing long-form content.

However, it's worth noting that embedding an Article currently results in a simple link preview, potentially limiting the visibility and accessibility of the content—a drawback that may warrant further consideration.
