iPhone 16 series to receive 8GB RAM and Wi-Fi 6E Boost
Apple is gearing up for a boost in the baseline iPhone 16 models' performance this year, as indicated by analyst Jeff Pu. Pu's insights, shared through a research note for Haitong International Securities, reveal that all iPhone 16 series models, including the Pro versions, are set to sport an enhanced 8GB RAM, marking a noteworthy upgrade from the 6GB RAM featured in their predecessors, the iPhone 15 series.
Beyond the memory enhancement, the non-Pro iPhone 16 models are slated to benefit from accelerated Wi-Fi 6E connectivity support, aligning them with the advanced capabilities already present in the iPhone 15 Pro models.
Shifting the spotlight to the iPhone 16 Pro models, Pu anticipates a significant upgrade in their 5G capabilities. Apple is expected to incorporate Qualcomm's Snapdragon X75 5G modem, replacing the X70 used in the 2023 iPhone 15 series. It's noteworthy that the regular iPhone 16 and 16 Plus will continue utilizing the older X70 modem, while the faster and more efficient X75 will be exclusive to the Pro models. This strategic move positions the Pro models at the forefront of cutting-edge connectivity technology.
