Image Generation Now Possible with Google's Bard AI
Today, Google introduced a significant upgrade to its Maps and unveiled exciting developments for Bard, its conversational AI. The standout enhancement is Bard's integration with Gemini Pro, Google's latest multimodal AI model, now available in all languages and territories where Bard operates.
Previously limited to English, Gemini Pro's capabilities empower Bard with advanced understanding, reasoning, summarization, and coding skills. Notably, Bard has gained the ability to generate images, a feature accessible for free in English across most countries worldwide. This functionality leverages Google's cutting-edge Imagen 2 model, striking a balance between quality and speed, delivering high-quality, photorealistic outputs.
The process is user-friendly: users can describe their ideas in Bard's text box, and the AI generates custom, diverse visuals to bring those ideas to life. To maintain transparency, Bard embeds digitally identifiable watermarks using SynthID in the generated images, marking them as AI creations.
Moreover, users can now cross-verify Bard's responses by utilizing Google search results in over 40 languages. By clicking on the G icon, Bard evaluates its output against web content, offering highlighted phrases and insights into supporting or contradictory information found by Google search.
According to the Large Model Systems Organization, a prominent evaluator of language models and chatbots, Bard with Gemini Pro stands out as one of the preferred chatbots, making a remarkable leap forward, whether used for free or at a cost. Blind evaluations by third-party raters endorsed Bard with Gemini Pro as one of the top-performing conversational AIs, surpassing leading free and paid alternatives.
