Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 Review: The bigger picture.

snapdragon 8 gen 1

Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 is Snapdragon’s flagship chipset for the year 2022, though the chipset was unveiled in November 2021. The SD 8 Gen 1 is only a few months old, yet, its performance ratings and numerous benchmark tests is all over the web.

Arguably, these were all possible, thanks to Motorola launching the Motorola Edge X30, a smartphone that is equipped with the SD 8 Gen 1 less than 2 weeks after the chipset was announced.

The Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 is everything a hardcore user desires in a smartphone chipset. Thanks to it’s power efficient TSMC 4nm process, the chipset is built to LAST, while minimising energy consumption.

Because of the somewhat restricted speed at 3.0GHz for its powercore, the chances of overheating during use is reduced on the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1. The Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 comes into a market with steep competition from the likes of Mediatek Dimensity 9000 and the Samsung Exynos 2200.

Looking at the architecture and configuration of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1, Snapdragon held nothing back [except in the chipset speed area] during the assembly of this flagship chipset

Side Note

Gaming tests performed on the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 reveled the struggles of Qualcomm flagship SoC, as it struggled with efficiency and thermals. – Notebookcheck

The Bigger picture.

The Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 is indeed a welcome upgrade to the Snapdragon 888, but considering the early warnings of poor gaming performance and thermals, is it advisable to get a snapdragon 8 gen 1 device?

Except there is a possible fix [we highly doubt] for the already raised concerns, then the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 device may not be a good option if you desire a gaming device.

There you have it, well with this current issue that is being associated with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1, are you still open to get a flagship device with this chipset or you will be holding on till a snapdragon 8 Gen 1+ or pro chipset is launched?
