PUBG Mobile, one of the most popular battle royale games, is set to receive a significant update that will introduce 120 frames per second (FPS) support. This enhancement is specifically designed for Samsung’s latest Galaxy S24 and S23 series, as well as the Galaxy Z Fold 5. This update marks a substantial improvement from the previous 90 FPS cap, offering a smoother and more responsive gaming experience.

Samsung has officially announced the collaboration with Tencent, the developers of PUBG Mobile, to bring this high-frame-rate gaming experience to its flagship devices. The update is scheduled to roll out starting May 13, 2024, and will be available in regions where PUBG is accessible. This move aims to leverage the advanced hardware capabilities of Samsung’s devices, including their powerful chipsets and 120Hz display panels.

The update is expected to utilize the full potential of the devices’ hardware, thanks to the optimizations made in Samsung’s Game Optimization Service (GOS) and Game Booster app. These enhancements are designed to ensure that the game runs smoothly at 120 FPS while maintaining device performance and temperature control. The Galaxy S24 series, in particular, features a massive vapor cooling chamber that aids in sustaining high performance during extended gaming sessions.

While the update initially supports the latest Samsung models, there is anticipation for its expansion to older flagship models. However, Samsung has not yet confirmed any plans for such an extension. Additionally, there is no word on whether similar support will be extended to Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI), the Indian counterpart of PUBG Mobile.
