Samsung Galaxy S23 FE unveiled with enhanced camera capabilities and a 50MP sensor while utilizing flagship chipsets from the previous year.
In Seoul, Korea, Samsung conducted a launch event earlier today to introduce several new Fan Edition gadgets, among them the Galaxy S23 FE. The eagerly anticipated Galaxy S21 FE, which made its debut in 2021, is being replaced by this new smartphone.
With three floating cameras on the rear, the Galaxy S23 FE adheres to the design aesthetic of the S23 series. This time, Samsung has given the S23 FE a Corning Gorilla Glass 5 finish and an aluminum frame. The device's edges are rounded for comfort in handling. The phone weighs 209 kilos and is 8.2mm thick. The gadget has an IP68 water-resistant designation, much like the flagship range.
In addition, the phone sports a 6.4-inch FHD+ (2340 x 1080 pixel) AMOLED screen with a centered punch hole, a maximum refresh rate of 120Hz, and Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection on the front. The display has a fingerprint sensor for further security.
For some locations, the Galaxy S23 FE uses the same Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC as the Galaxy S22 series of handsets. A Samsung Exynos 2200 SoC with a maximum clock speed of 2.8GHz will be available in other locations. There won't be much of a performance difference between the two versions, according to their Geekbench results.
As an alternative, the smartphone will include 8GB of RAM and 256GB or 128GB of storage. The internal battery has a capacity of 4,500mAh and is compatible with wireless charging, 25W fast charging, and reverse wireless charging. According to Samsung, the battery can be recharged to 50% in 30 minutes using the 25W wired fast charging.
Samsung has also introduced a vapor chamber cooling technology to manage thermals. The phone will ship with Android 13 and One UI 5.1 pre-installed. Samsung provides four years of Android upgrades and five years of security updates for the smartphone, which amounts to major improvements till Android 17.
Dual SIM connectivity with 5G SA/NSA, 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 6E 802.11ax (2.4/5GHz), Bluetooth 5.3, GPS + GLONASS, USB 3.1, and NFC compatibility are additional features. It features a dual speaker system inside that is tuned for Dolby Atmos.
The 50MP primary camera on the Galaxy S23 FE has been improved with an f/1.8 aperture and optical image stabilization. The 12MP ultrawide lens sensor's f/2.2 aperture and 123-degree field of vision are outstanding. Having an f/2.4 aperture, 3x optical zoom, and optical image stabilization, the third sensor on the rear is an 8MP telephoto camera. The front camera has a 10MP resolution, an aperture of f/2.4, and an 80-degree field of vision.
There are several camera options to experiment with, such as the Nightography mode, which enables you to snap sharp selfies and photos at night. You may adjust shutter speed, aperture, ISO, and more in pro mode.
The Samsung Galaxy S23 FE is offered in the colors Mint, Cream, Graphite, and Purple, as well as two more colors that are only available online: Indigo and Tangerine. Starting on October 5th, it will be sold for a starting price of $599.
