Redmi K70 Series Launches with Upgraded Camera and Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 Processor
The Redmi K70 and Redmi K70 Pro smartphones were unveiled as part of Redmi's major event today. Both include premium chipsets, quick charging, and a new 50 MP primary camera.
Redmi K70
This phone from Xiaomi has a 6.67" OLED screen with a refresh rate of 120 Hz and a resolution of 1440p. According to the business, the 12-bit has the highest peak brightness of 4,000 nits and can display 68.7 billion colors, making it the brightest display in the industry. Additionally, Xiaomi created an AI system for upscaling specific apps and video games.
Qualcomm's flagship platform for 2022, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, powers the Redmi K70. It comes with either 256 GB and 1 TB of UFS 4.0 storage together with 12 GB or 16 GB of LPDDR5X RAM.
The primary 50 MP camera on the rear has a newly designed 1/1.55" sensor with an f/1.6 aperture up front and optical image stabilization. Additionally, there is a 2 MP depth sensor and an 8 MP ultrawide angle camera.
Redmi did not disclose the 16 MP front-facing camera specifications, although it is most likely the same 1/3.06" sensor with an f/2.5 lens as the K60 series.
The Redmi K70 has a 5,000 mAh battery that can be completely charged in only 18 minutes thanks to 120W charging capabilities. To extend battery life and enhance overall power management, the phone is equipped with a G1 battery management chip and a separate P2 charging chip.
Additionally, a VC and a 5,000 sq. mm cooling area are included with the device, which is 10% larger than that of the predecessors.
As a member of the Xiaomi family, the Redmi K70 ships pre-installed with HyperOS, which is based on Android 14. It does not feature a microSD card or a 3.5 mm audio port, but it does have NFC, Bluetooth 5.3, and two nano-SIM slots.
China will start selling the Redmi K70 at 10 AM on December 1. There are four color options: violet, moonstone blue, black, and white. The 12/256 GB model costs CNY2,499 ($350/€320), while the most powerful 16 GB/1 TB version costs CNY3,399 ($480/€435).
Redmi K70 Pro
The Redmi K70 Pro is constructed using the same 6.67" 1440p OLED display, created in collaboration with TCL. A major improvement over the stock K70 is the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset.
The Redmi K70's OIS and the Pro's 50 MP sensor are compatible. Pro ups the ante with a powerful 12 MP ultrawide shooter and a 50 MP true telephoto camera with 2x optical zoom. Once more, the selfie camera sports a 16 MP sensor.
The 120W charging option for the 5,000 mAh battery offers the same guarantee of a full charge in 18 minutes.
There are three color options for the Redmi K70 Pro: Black, White, and Blue. Prices for 12/256 GB are CNY3,299 ($465/€420), 16/256 GB are CNY3,599 ($505/€460), 16/512 GB are CNY3,899 ($550/€500), and 24 GB RAM and 1 TB storage are CNY4,399 ($620/€565).
