Pixel 9 Pro Teasers: Smaller Screen, Redesigned Camera

In October 2023, Google unveiled the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro, and now, all eyes are on the upcoming Pixel 9 lineup.

Fresh CAD-based renders have surfaced, providing a sneak peek into the Pixel 9 Pro's design. Notably, the device is set to feature a slightly smaller screen with flat panels and sides and a redesigned camera bump that no longer spans the entire width.

Leaked details suggest a 6.5” panel for the Pixel 9 Pro, a reduction from the 6.7” OLED on its predecessor. Despite the smaller display, the overall body size remains consistent, resulting in slightly thicker bezels.

Google, known for its distinctive wide camera island in past Pixel flagships, is making a change. The Pixel 9 Pro's shooters will now be arranged horizontally within an oval island. The device maintains a slender 8.5 mm profile, but the camera bump significantly increases, measuring 12 mm at its most prominent.

While Google has traditionally used an aluminum frame, industry watchers speculate a shift towards the titanium alloy trend set by Apple's iPhone 15 Pro series and adopted by Samsung in the Galaxy S24 Ultra. This potential move could signify a noteworthy shift in material choice for Google's flagship lineup.
