One UI 3.1 ROM for Samsung Note 9 and S9/S9 Plus [SM-N960F/FD/N--SM-G96xF/FD/N]

Samsung note 9 and S9/S9 plus were excluded from the list of devices that will run the One UI 3.1 based on Android 11 ROM, this is not because these devices are not capable of running One UI 3.1 but because of Samsung's 3 years major operating system update.

This is a sad story for the users of the aforementioned devices for the fact that they stuck with Android 10 forever. While hunting for a way to get One UI 3.1 ROM based on Android 11, I came across a very good option on XDA called NOBLE ROM 1.4 OneUI 3.1. for ONLY Samsung Note 9 and S9/S9 Plus with Exynos SoC.

I don't have been using the ROM on my Samsung note since its initial NOBLE ROM 1.1 release, I have considered this only One UI 3.1 based on Android 11 ROM you can get on the internet. The ROM works fine on Samsung S9/S9 plus as I have been following user feedback on the NOBLE ROM telegram group.

Known Bugs

  1. Front Live Focus
  2. Live Focus and Selective Focus (just for S9 G960 users)
  3. LED View Cover (I haven't it so I can't test/fix it)
  4. USB Settings Menu will be shown as blanked
  5. Sometimes Gallery link in-camera is greyed but IF YOU PRESS IT, IT WORKS NORMALLY
  6. Front camera ultra-wide selfie mode doesn't work

Important Notes

  1. For STARTERS is important to select the NO DEBLOAT option, in order to prevent issues with the ADVANCED DEBLOAT
  2. Is RECOMMENDED to use TWRP 3.3.1.1 with this build. DON'T COMPLAIN about this, I will get it fully working for newer TWRP as soon as I have enough time.
  3. Back up your phone before installing!
  4. Update your MODEM AND BOOTLOADER BEFORE INSTALLING THIS ROM
  5. DON'T UPDATE the AOD apk otherwise you'll get again the "AOD CHARGING BUG"

How to Clean Install

Follow these steps carefully! CLEAN INSTALL is always RECOMMENDED!

MAKE SURE YOU HAVE THE LATEST MODEM AND BOOTLOADER INSTALLED!

TWRP 3.3.1.1

  1. Go back to TWRP menu' and press INSTALL
  2. Then select NOBLE ROM zip and SWIPE TO CONFIRM FLASH
  3. Follow AROMA instructions (FOR STARTERS: select NO DEBLOAT and CLEAN INSTALL options)
  4. REBOOT and enjoy NOBLE ROM!

TWRP 3.5.x.x

  1. Open TWRP by pressing volume up+ Bixby + power buttons
  2. Go to the WIPE menu' and press ADVANCED WIPE
  3. Then select: system, vendor, data, cache, dalvik, and SWIPE TO WIPE
  4. Go back to TWRP menu' and press INSTALL
  5. Then select NOBLE ROM zip and SWIPE TO CONFIRM FLASH
  6. Follow AROMA instructions (FOR STARTERS: select NO DEBLOAT and CLEAN INSTALL options)
  7. If you try to reboot you will see 'NO OS INSTALLED' warning
  8. Go back WITHOUT REBOOTING and FLASH THE ROM AGAIN
  9. Then REBOOT and enjoy NOBLE ROM!

How to dirty flash​

TWRP 3.3.1.1

  1. In TWRP menu' and press INSTALL
  2. Then select NOBLE ROM zip and SWIPE TO CONFIRM FLASH
  3. Follow AROMA instructions (FOR STARTERS: select NO DEBLOAT and DIRTY FLASH option)
  4. REBOOT and enjoy NOBLE ROM!

TWRP 3.5.x.x

  1. . Wipe system and vendor
  2. Go back in TWRP menu' and press INSTALL
  3. Then select NOBLE ROM zip and SWIPE TO CONFIRM FLASH
  4. Follow AROMA instruction (FOR STARTERS: select NO DEBLOAT option)
  5. If you try to reboot you will see 'NO OS INSTALLED' warning
  6. Go back WITHOUT REBOOTING and FLASH THE ROM AGAIN
  7. Then REBOOT and enjoy NOBLE ROM!​
