The Pixel 8 series, particularly the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro, has been the subject of several leaks and speculations. The Pixel 8a is also anticipated to be part of the range, though nothing is known about it at the moment. The Pixel 8a is thought to be the smartphone with the model name "Google Akita" that has lately surfaced on Geekbench.

The Mali-G715 GPU and an underclocked version of the Tensor G3 chipset will power the Akita smartphone, according to its Geekbench listing. It will also come pre-loaded with Android 14 and feature up to 8GB of RAM. The smartphone performed well in both the single-core and multi-core tests, scoring 1,218 and 3,175 points, respectively.

The Pixel 8a's specifications are still a secret. According to a rumor from Android Authority in December 2022, the gadget has the codename "Akita," carrying on Google's tradition of naming Pixel phones after animals. But it's not yet known if the Pixel 8a will be made available.

Google may only introduce a new A-series smartphone model every two years, according to insiders. The following A-series phone might be available in 2025 if the Pixel 7a is introduced in 2023. It would be the Pixel 9a by that point, or Google may decide to relaunch the series by dropping the version number.

For those with a low budget who want a Pixel experience, there is the Pixel 7a. It sports a 6.1-inch OLED screen with a 90Hz refresh rate and Full HD+ resolution. Corning Gorilla Glass 3 also provides security. Google's Tensor G2 processor supports up to 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. The phone also has a 64MP dual-camera system, a 13MP front-facing camera, twin speakers, a 3.5mm audio connection, a 4,385mAh battery, and support for both 18W wired charging and wireless charging.
