Apple's Push for Apple Watch Integration with Android

In response to the lawsuit filed by the US Department of Justice accusing Apple of maintaining an illegal monopoly over the smartphone market and related services, the Cupertino-based tech giant has unveiled a surprising revelation.

Critics have long chastised Apple for its "walled garden" approach, which restricts compatibility with non-Apple products. However, it has come to light that Apple has explored making its Apple Watch compatible with Android phones.

The revelation comes after three years of consideration within Apple, in direct response to allegations by the DOJ of gatekeeping within its ecosystem.

Apple's flagship smartwatch, the Apple Watch, has historically been exclusive to the iPhone. This exclusivity potentially drives up costs for consumers looking to switch to a non-Apple smartphone, as they would need to replace their Apple Watch with an Android-compatible alternative.
