App Store and Apple Cash Temporarily Disrupted for Maintenance
On Friday, Apple users faced disruptions in several services, as reported by the company's System Status support page (via Bloomberg). Between 6:29 pm and 7:42 pm EST, the iTunes Store, Mac App Store, and App Store experienced issues, hindering users' ability to make purchases. The System Status support page now confirms the resolution of the App Store outage.
Scheduled maintenance is underway for Apple Cash, starting at 1 am EST today. Users may encounter difficulties with this service during the maintenance period. Apple Cash enables the transfer of funds through iMessage, allowing users to send or request money seamlessly. To utilize this feature, access iMessage, open the relevant chat, tap the "+" button, and select Apple Cash. However, due to ongoing maintenance, users may experience interruptions.
From 6:29 p.m. until 7:42 p.m. EST on Friday, Apple Music also experienced anĀ outage, which occasionally caused problems for customers. Since then, Apple has fixed the Apple Music outage. In addition, there was a breakdown in AppleCare on Device on Friday from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. EST, which prevented customers from buying AppleCare protection straight from their devices. This problem has been fixed.
The subscription purchase feature also suffered an outage on Friday evening between 6:29 pm and 7:42 pm EST, with users facing intermittent issues. According to the System Status support page, Apple successfully addressed the outage.
