Xiaomi was reportedly given the exclusive right for Qualcomm's upcoming Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 SoC with the Xiaomi 15 and 15 Pro, anticipated to launch in mid-October according to Xiaomi exclusives. The Xiaomi 15 Pro is expected to come alongside the Xiaomi 15, being the first to incorporate the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 chipset from Qualcomm. The new chipset is rumored to be a game-changer, potentially setting a new standard for mobile processing with its 3 nm architecture.

The Xiaomi 15 series is not just about raw power; it’s also about the experience. The standard model is likely to feature a 6.36-inch AMOLED display, boasting an LTPO panel capable of reaching a peak brightness of 1500 nits. The Pro variant could take visual fidelity up a notch with a 2K resolution AMOLED panel, with even thinner bezels than before.

In terms of photography it's still early to have a fixed feature as a lot can change from now till the launch time. With the Pro model speculated to house a 50MP OV50K 1" main sensor, complemented by a 50MP JN1 ultra-wide sensor and an OV64B periscope telephoto lens. This setup, in collaboration with Leica, is expected to bring amazing photography capabilities to the Xiaomi 15 Pro.

Performance-wise, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 is anticipated to feature a CPU with two extra-large cores, which could reach speeds between 3.6 to 4 GHz. Early Geekbench scores suggest we might see figures around 2700 for single-core and 10,000 for multi-core tests, indicating a significant leap in performance.

Another exciting feature rumored to be part of the Xiaomi 15 series is satellite connectivity, which would provide emergency communication options similar to those found in the iPhone 15 Pro Max. Additionally, the charging technology is expected to be top-notch, with the standard Xiaomi 15 possibly supporting 90W charging and the Pro variant potentially going up to 120W.

The Xiaomi 14 made its international debut on February at MWC, and the Xiaomi 15 might take similar steps regarding international debut. The mid-October launch was first reported by Digital Chat Station, a prolific digital leaker.
